Pastor Dr. Ray Anthony Lee Coleman, Jr.
Dr. Ray A. L. Coleman, Jr was born to Ray Coleman, Sr. & Mrs. Carolyn Williams by the will of God in Houston, Texas. He is the first of six children. Dr. Coleman attended Paris Texas Public Schools, graduating from Paris High School in 1987. Served in the US Navy right out of high school.
He accepted his prenatal call to the ministry on April 1, 1990, and officially became Reverend Ray A. L. Coleman, Jr. His "Born to Preach" spirit led him to higher education, he has a Bachelors in Theology, Masters in Theology, Masters in Christian Counseling, Doctorate in Theology, Doctorate in Christian Counseling, and Doctorate in Religious Education. He is a, published author "From Broken to Better".
Dr. Coleman is the former Pastor of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, Houston Texas, where he served for over 20 years. He was the longest tenure Pastor, with many great accomplishments, the church is debt-free, completely renovated church, community involvement, marriage ministry - council with couples across the USA, wellness ministry helped thousands with underline health conditions, and Covid-19, rebranding of the church - Church that CARES.
Upon his arrival at Mt. Zion, Dr. Coleman is working hard to transform Mt. Zion into "The Rebuilding Place" he expresses love to all, teaches love and he is a great example of the LOVE of GOD. His effects can be felt through preaching, how he works with all leaders, and how he goes out of his way for all. We are truly blessed to have such a leader
Dr. Coleman enjoys fishing, sports, physical fitness, going to movies, and fine dining. Dr. Coleman’s influences in the preaching ministry are Rev. S. F. Evans, Rev. William Tim Glynn, Dr. Ralph D. West, Dr. T. R. Williams, The Late Great Rev. O. C. Johnson, Rev. Jerry D. Black, Dr. R. A. Williams, Dr. Frank Ray and Dr. Jasper Williams.
Married to the lovely Mrs. Rhonda Faye Coleman (formerly Daniels) she is the daughter of Pastor and Sis. Richard Edward Daniels. Five children, Shaderia, Shakeria, Ray III, Dedric, and Rayshawn. Five grandchildren, Logan, Ray IV, Jayne, Marley, Raymon Eli Coleman
